The Yankee Genealogical Society is a group of amateur and experienced genealogists whose purpose is to assist members in tracing their heritage in
the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Meetings are held quarterly at the Minnesota Genealogical Society Library meeting room, 1185 Concord St. N. Suite 218 in South St. Paul. Information on reference materials, outside seminars and classes is shared; individual research challenges are addressed, and guest speakers are often included. The February meetings are Roundtable discussions among those interested in the same states, areas and organizations. Meeting dates and times are listed on the MGS & Branch Calendar page. A newsletter is mailed quarterly to members. It includes notice of activities, research tips and other items of interest to Yankee researchers. Reference materials pertaining to New England and the Yankee states are available for research during regular MGS Library hours. Membership is open to anyone researching ancestors who lived in or passed through the Yankee states.
