Below is a list of MGS members who have indicated a willingness to speak on a variety of topics. All arrangements concerning fees, mileage, AV equipment requirements, availability of handouts, permission to record presentations and travel arrangements are the responsibility of the requesting group and the individual speaker. We suggest that speakers be contacted several months in advance of the desired speaking date. Although a sampling of topics is listed, please contact each speaker for an expanded listing of topics. MGS does not recommend any speaker, nor do we endorse the quality of their presentation.

Jay specializes in Dutch genealogy and 19th century Midwest genealogical research, ranging from Kentucky and Indiana to the Upper Midwest. He is a director of the Minnesota Genealogical Society and a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. Harold E. Hinds, Jr. Ph.D., Distinguished Research Professor of History at the University of Minnesota-Morris, Morris, MN 56267. Phone 320-589-4753. Email: hindshe@mrs.umn.edu. He teaches a wide variety of history courses, including genealogy and family history; and has lectured widely on genealogical topics, around Minnesota, at both NGS and FGS national conventions, and in New York, Ohio, and Texas. He serves as a Director of the Minnesota Genealogical Society, Associate Editor of the Minnesota Genealogist, President of Stevens County (MN) Genealogical society and columnist for the National Genealogical Society NewsMagazine.

Beth L. Mullinax has over 23 years of genealogy research experience. Beth is a director and past president of the Irish Genealogy Society International (IGSI) in addition to being its librarian since its inception. Beth has traveled to Ireland 16 times leading research tours on four of those trips. Her military records expertise comes for almost 30 years working for the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Tom Rice, CGSM, Tom is a Certified Genealogical Records Specialist whose professional genealogy activities include lecturing, research and writing. He is a Director of the Minnesota Genealogical Society and an Officer of the Irish Genealogy Society International. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. He is a winner of the Board for Certification of Genealogist's scholarship to attend the 2003 Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Samford University. Paula Stuart Warren, CGSM. Paula is a full-time professional genealogist, writer, and lecturer. She lectures across the U.S. and is a course coordinator at the annual Salt lake Institute of Genealogy. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Genealogical Speakers Guild, and the Minnesota Genealogical Society (MGS). She served on the MGS board of directors for six years and is currently an active volunteer with APG and the Federation of Genealogical Societies.
